About me and „Villa Holberg“
Christina Dückelmann
It was love at first sight: when I discovered the house I immediately fell under its spell. Although it seemed inconceivable at the beginning, we moved to Rainberg with our Golden Retriever “Merlin Holberg” in 2011. Meanwhile, “Cooper Holberg” is the four-legged man of the house.
Where does the name “Holberg” come from?
The name dates back to Ludvig Baron von Holberg (13. 12.1684 – 28. 01.1754). He was a Norwegian author, essayist, philosopher, historian and dramatist, who spent most of his life in Denmark. He was influenced by humanism, the age of enlightenment and the Baroque era. Holberg was a lawyer and professor of Latin, and spent time living in France, Rome and Oxford.
My house is primarily intended to be a "home away from home" for international artists. I enjoy traveling the world myself and am delighted when our illustrious guests bring the world to visit me.
